EZ-QC (Operations #8) Orders by Part Status

Purpose
This card tracks QC order volume by part status over time, helping managers monitor production flow. It highlights whether parts are being processed through Warehouse, Yard, Inventory, or other statuses efficiently week by week.

Key Metrics

  • Order Count by Part Status – Weekly totals for categories like Warehouse, Yard, Inventory, Unbolted, Dismantle, and Surplus.

  • Trend Over Time – Weekly movement of order counts to see growth, stability, or decline in each status.

  • Comparative Scale – Identifies which statuses (Warehouse vs. Yard) dominate the order pipeline.

Insights to Look For

  • Operational load: If Warehouse consistently carries the highest order counts, it indicates reliance on that workflow; sudden spikes may flag capacity concerns.

  • Backlogs or bottlenecks: Rising Inventory or Unbolted orders may point to parts waiting to be processed or listed.

  • Production efficiency: A steady or declining Dismantle or Surplus line suggests fewer parts are entering these categories, which may reflect improved salvage targeting or underutilization.

  • Trend monitoring: Drops or rises in specific statuses week to week can reflect seasonal shifts, labor changes, or workflow bottlenecks.
